The HP StorageWorks MSL2024 Tape Library combines library features and up to 19.2 TB compressed capacity (2:1) in a compact 2U form factor. The MSL2024 Tape Library offers the latest generation LTO tape drives; either one Ultrium 960 SCSI or FC, or up to two Ultrium 920 or 448 tape drives. A second Ultrium 920 or 448 tape drive can be installed later if backup needs change. Ideal for replicated systems, web-based management allows centralized management of many sites. The library also offers two 12-slot removable magazines, one mail slot and barcode reader for efficient media management. All MSL2024 Tape Libraries and associated kits are RoHS compliant.

The MSL2024 Tape Library allows web-based remote manageability; the unit can be monitored and managed from across the room or across the globe. Functions included in the management tool include:

The MSL2024 Tape Library is shipped as a rack-ready unit. The rack mount hardware included with the library allows installation in a variety of HP racks which include the 10000 series, 9000 series, 5000 series and System/E racks.
